Though, it feels like it's any day now. Thanks for checking,
Something seems a little backwards here.
Still no. Still not yet.
Not yet. Keep checking!

The dates are just in for the Animatrix screenings and the Boston show is set for Sat. May 31 at midnight, at Coolidge Corner Theater, 290 Harvard St., Brookline MA. Anyone that is interested in an invitation to the screening should drop Sandy an email at animatrixinvite@yahoo.com - tell her Joshua sent you.
People should know that this is a FREE event and since the theater only seats 235 people, admittance will be on a first come first serve basis, even with an invitation, so arrive early! Four of the nine shorts can be viewed online now at http://www.intothematrix.com. This might be your only chance to see this awesome animation on the big screen...
Without giving it all away, what people should know about the Animatrix...
The Animatrix explains the fall of mankind, and the rise of the machines. One character that appears in the Matrix Reloaded, (i won't say who) is the subject matter of one of the nine short stories in the Animatrix. It is also safe to assume, that a few of the short stories will also tie into The Matrix Revolutions that will be released in November.
Foxtrot still rocks.
No, seriously. Is it?
Attn: SPOILERS AHEAD. Do NOT click on "Read more..." if you haven't seen tonight's episode...
Ok, I remember when The West Wing came on the air probably 4 or 5 years ago now. I never really watched it or got into it despite all the wonderful ratings, awards, blah blah blah. At some point towards the end of last season, I watched an episode, and then another, and realized what many have known for a long time: The West Wing is one of the best written shows on network television, let alone any television. It's smart (really smart), funny, touching, engaging, and completely entertaining.
When I started watching it, I thought to myself, "This is as good as Sports Night." I guess there was a reason for that... it was created and written by the same guy, Aaron Sorkin. Anyway, I was hooked and watched all the episodes from last season all last summer. What did NBC say... if you haven't seen it yet, it's not a repeat! Damn, that's clever!
Ok, enough fan babble... tonight's season finale [last spoiler warning] was just awesome. Ok, well it was awesome in the sense of what transpired on the show but disappointing in what didn't. Having the president resign since he clearly doesn't think he's in the right frame of mind to make sound decisions is pure brilliance in the writing. It makes it clear why they booted the VP off the show a couple of weeks ago because it means that the speaker of the house is the next in charge if the president resigns... conspiracy theorists get to work! So we've never really seen the speaker of the house in the show, or at least I haven't... so who walks in to make it clear that he's the boss and he's not really interested in anyone's opinions (including Barlett's) but his own? It's John Goodman. Goodman, who's already an amazing choice for this role, knows how the play the heavy, no pun intended. Just look at Oh Brother Where Art Tho and Barton Fink*, to name a few. And they kept it such a good secret, even IMDB does have it listen yet. (I did submit it tho.) Anyway, he's clearly an ass and Sorkin is going out with style leaving more things open and to be resolved than any writer next season could ask for, and possibly even want. James Brolin did such a wonderful job at being Barlett's nemesis but, imho, he's not going to be able to hold a candle to Goodman. Stay tuned.
(By the way, Barton Fink comes out on DVD next Tuesday. About time.)
In really exciting gaming news, Small Fry Studios released a teaser for Hillbilly Whack today and apparently, it's all the buzz at E3. Doom III, Half Life II, World of Warcraft? You can all rest assured none of them compare to Hillbilly Whack!
Okay, Ready... has all the details via Slashdot. This can't be good for anyone.
Or should I say Batdog? I gotta git' me one of those!
It seems that the $20 bill is getting a redesign. Didn't we just go through this a few years ago? How about spending some time getting rid of the useless penny instead of wasting millions on the $20. Also the article mentions that the $1 and $2 bill are remaining the same. The $2 bill? Are they seriously still making that?
So apparently, when I wasn't looking, UPS bought almost all of the Mailboxes, Etc. stores around the country. They're now called The UPS Store. All I can say is about frickin time. MBE was a great way to overpay for shipping. Now you can pay standard UPS rates at the UPS Store, without that just reamed feeling as you leave.
I've just installed a little utility called KungTunes that, with a little bit of hacking and formatting on my side, allows you to see what my computer has recently played - or is currently playing. Please note, I currently have iTunes set to play random from every CD in my 800+ disc collection so some of this stuff is pretty out there, and gets quickly skipped - so no harassing email about some bizarre show tune or something. Also, if you click on the artist name, you can check out more details on Amazon.
Anyone else in the Boston (or surrounding suburbs) area dying from allergies? I am having the worst allergic reactions to the pollen in the air and haven't felt this miserable in any recent memory. My nose won't stop running. (I think the guy at the Sears tool checkout counter today thought I was a coke-head.) My eyes are ridiculously itchy and red. (And the woman at Home Depot surely thinks I'm stoned.) I am getting a lot done on the new house, including installing a dryer vent hose and external duct, and for the first time, actually used duct tape on a duct - it really works! I am taking Alavert which is one of those over-the-counter knock-offs of Claritin now that it's available without a prescription. It's supposed to work for 24 hours. It doesn't. But I am not sure if anything can make me feel 100% better at this rate. One neat thing is that the Alavert pill dissolves in your mouth so you don't need to be so inconvenienced by having to actually get a glass of water. It also leaves a minty taste in your mouth so although I look like I've been chopping raw onions for 48 hours without sleeping, at least my breath is fresh.
Warning: Boring Blog Tech Stuff Ahead:
I've been using KungLog for posting and it's been great but MT has been giving me timeout errors, yet posting correctly. I thought I'd try out NetNewsWire's posting options and see what kind of results I get. Stay tuned. Or don't. That's the wonder of the web.

Hey, this is my number 1 fan guys and gals. If you want to be my number one fan, you better get cracking 'cause that title doesn't come easy, nor is it without a huge responsibility. But alas, you probably already know this.
Timeout Test #3. Hopefully not to be continued.
I am still trying to figure out why I am getting timeouts with MT and Kunglog. Please ignore this as well.

Thanks!
I am doing some tests today. Please ignore this. Stop reading. Stop! Stop it now. Please! Ok, fine. Read on. But don't blame me if you enjoy it.
No no, this isn't Spam but I hope you appreciated my "Spam Compatible" subject.
I called Verizon this morning and said "Hey, I'd like to cancel my service?"
"Why sir?" responded the oh-so-friendly representative.
"Because Comcast is faster and cheaper," I replied. Duh.
"Well if I could double your speed and knock off $15 a month, permanently, would you stay with Verizon?"
"Uhhhh," I pondered quickly calculating that the 2x speed increase would equal my speed from Comcast. I'm sharp as a tack! "Sure. Make it happen #1."
"Excuse me?"
"Yes, I would like that thank you."
If you use Verizon DSL, call them up and tell them they're too slow and expensive and you want to cancel. You will get the same deal. Note: If you're too far away from one of their central offices (greater than 12,000 feet I believe) you will get the discount but not speed increase.
Enjoy.
