No fun w/ Dick and Jane.

Yesterday, I had the unfortunate displeasure of seeing the remake of "Fun with Dick and Jane." Some how Wesley Morris of the Globe gave this 3.5 out of 4 stars. Now I know the Globe is a little more lax in its reviews of films than say The New York Times, The New Yorker, but usually, if a movie gets 3 stars, it's at least decent, and 3.5 stars means it's a gem with a few rough edges. That being said, this was one of the worst movies I have ever seen. This remake of the original with Jane Fonder, provided one of the most painful movie going experiences I have ever endured. Honestly, when I saw the cast and the ads, I wasn't particularly intrigued, especially with awesome movies like Walk the Line, Brokeback Mountain, and even The Chronicles of Narnia out there... but 3.5 stars.. wow, something must be really good in there. My friends I went to the movie with had seen most of the other good movies playing so I said "Hey, The Globe loved Fun w/ Dick and Jane. How bad can it be?" Bad. Very very bad. If I had been on a plane watching this, I would have walked out. All I kept thinking was "Be Funny!" but to no avail, it never was. Honestly, I am less angry at the film makers for producing this crap, which is what it is, than the Globe and Wesley Morris for saying it's so good. It's not. Don't see this movie. Ever. Don't rent it. Don't watch it on a plane (you could die). Don't sneak into a theater to see this. You will never get those two hours of your life back. Ever.

Back?

Ok, I know I've kept promising to post more often, let alone occasionally, and I've been pretty horrible about that. That being said, I'm going to try to be a little more regular. My goal is one post a day on average. Let's see how that goes for a while...
